Pacific Wildlife Care’s Education - 10:00 am-12:00 noon
Learn what Pacific Wildlife Care does for the wildlife in our County. Meet Pacific Wildlife Care’s Education Chair, Kathy Duncan. Marcelle Bakula who works at the Center will also present. They will bring several “Wildlife Educational Ambassadors”( Max the blind great horned owl, Xena the American Kestrel and Gidget the Virginia Opossum.) Bring your cameras. It will be a sit down walk. Piedras Blancas Lighthouse Tour - 9:45
Tours are offered Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning from September 1 - June 14. From June 15 - August 31 tours are offered Monday through Saturday. No reservations needed for groups less than 10 people. No tours offered on federal holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc.) $10 adults, $5 ages 6-17, no fee for ages 5 and under. Tours last about 2 hours and include a 1/2 mile of easy walking. Visitors meet at 9:45 a.m. at the former Piedras Blancas Motel located 1.5 miles north of the light station on Highway 1. Do not wait at the gate to the light station! Wheelchairs and strollers are available upon request. No pets. Tours may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Community Fiesta de Santa Rosa - Noon-4pm Santa Rosa Catholic Church
La Fiesta de Santa Rosa will be celebrated on Sunday August 17 from noon until 4:00 pm. The free community event will be held on the Santa Rosa Church grounds at 1147 Main St., with plenty of free parking. Barbeque and Mexican dinners are $12, with beer, wine and margaritas available; the Sweet Shoppe will feature home made desserts. The day will commence with a bi-lingual Liturgy at 11:00 am in honor of the parish's patron, Saint Rose of Lima. CAMBRIA FOLLIES - 7:00 pm Vet's Hall
Cambria Follies...unparalleled entertainment! The dazzling, incomparable Cambria Follies returns with 5 performances of an all new show premiering August 27th. Tickets will go on sale August 1 at 9AM in front of the Chamber 767 Main St. Subsequently, all ticket sales will be at the Chamber. Demand will be high for this well loved spectacular so be sure to get your tickets early. Ticket prices are $35 and $25 for reserved seats. General admission is $15. Performances will be August 27-28-29-30-31. Don't want to wait for Aug. 1st and want to skip the line, right now you may buy Angel Packages directly from Peggy (927-7131). Remember The Follies is a fundraiser for the Lions Club of Cambria so the money goes to support local scholarships and charities. There are Angel seats at each performance. Our Angels donate $200 for their package of the 2 best seats in the house, 2 glasses of wine, an invitation to the cast party, and acknowledgement in the show program. Speak up ASAP if you want to be an Angel (and skip waiting in line to buy tickets) since several packages have already been reserved. 2014 Pinedorado Days Parade three day event - Main Street
The Pinedorado Parade will be on Main Street Aug. 30st, 2014. The parade will start promptly at 9:30 am at Main and Bridge Street and end at Main and Windsor. Please come and celebrate this wonderful event and enjoy the many activities afterward, including the Car Show on Sunday and entertainment at the Pinedorado grounds and the Veterans Hall on Main Street.
