Hearst Castle Evening Tours - Hearst Castle San Simeon
On most Friday and Saturday evenings. Tours run through October 1 thru December 31.Hearst Castle will feature the Living History Program that emphasizes the bygone lifestyle of this great estate. Piedras Blancas Lighthouse Tour - 9:45
Tours are offered Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, excluding Federal holidays. Meet at he former Piedras Blancas Motel, located 1 1/1 miles north of light station at 9:45 a.m. Do not wait at the gate to the lighthouse. $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-17, and free for children 5 and under.. 3rd Annual Scarecrow & Harvest Festival - 11-4pm
Saturday & Sunday, October 8 & 9 3rd Annual Scarecrow & Harvest Festival Presented by the Cambria Historical Society - 11 - 4 pm Saturday & Sunday at the Cambria Historical Museum. Food, drink vendors, silent auction and fun activities all weekend! Bluegrass, Fold & Blues by the SLO Pokes and a Harvest Pie Baking Contest on Saturday. On Sunday some of Cambria's most talented will vie for your vote in the "Something To Crow About Talent Show". The 2-day Festival will be held at the Cambria Historical Museum, but the scarecrows will be popping up all over town for the entire month of October! Vote for your favorite amongst 100's of handcrafted, whimsical scarecrows. Proceeds from the 2-day festival benefit the Cambria Historical Society. Friday, October 12, 2012 An Evening of Beer & Brats from 5:00 - 7:30. Taste beer from 4 local brewers including Cal Poly Brew Crew, Cambria Brewing Co., Chai Cream Ale and TNA Candy Beer. Admission is $20 and includes 5 tastings plus a meal of Brats with all the fixings! Designated drivers tickets are $10 and $5 for kids (includes hot dogs & root beer). TGIF With the Sherwoods - 5:00 pm The Joslyn Center 950 Main Street Cambria
The Sherwoods are an a cappella men's ensemble of Cornell University graduates from 1958 to 1974. The group performs from Boston to Seattle and Palm Springs to the Bahamas. Their performances include ballads and original close-harmony arrangements well seasoned with humor. A $10 donation will benefit the Cambria Chorale's Youth Music Fund, which provides music lessons for students who show talent in vocal or instrumental music and need financial assistance to continue with their musical training.

1st Annual Monster Bash - 6 pm Veterans' Hall 1000 Main St.
On Saturday, October 29th, the 1st Annual Monster Bash be held at the Cambria Veteran’s Memorial Building, Cambria. The Monster Bash is sponsored by the Piedras Blancas Light Station Association. The party begins with a social hour at 6:00 pm. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Prizes will be awarded. The 1959 movie, “Monster of Piedras Blancas” will be shown at 7:00. There is no admission fee but donations are welcome. Popcorn, snacks, and beverages will be sold to benefit the light station. The 1959 movie, “Monster of Piedras Blancas” was filmed at Point Conception Lighthouse and in Cayucos. The monster invades a sleepy lighthouse town. The superstitious lighthouse keeper is worried for the safety of his beautiful teenage daughter, so he leaves food for the monster, who dwells in a nearby cave. The local community takes notice when bodies start washing up ashore.
