LIMITED TIME-NEW TOUR HEARST CASTLE-THE ART OF SAN SIMEON - 750 Hearst Castle Road
For a limited time Hearst Castle will be offering a new tour option for visitors. The Art of San Simeon, a special semi-private, art-focused tour begins Saturday, September 17, 2016. Hearst Castle is world-renowned for the celebrities of the 1920s and 30s who enjoyed its magnificence and today it is the only California State Park that is an art museum accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. On this new two-hour semi-private tour your knowledgeable guide will focus on Hearst and how he acquired his remarkable paintings, tapestries, sculptures, antiquities, and furniture. In groups limited to eight participants, you will see areas that combine the itineraries of the four daytime tours, while continuing to areas in the Castle that have never before been included. The cost of this semi-private tour is $100 per person with a capacity of eight people per tour. From September 17 through October 31, 2016, and from May 1 through June 30, 2017, the tour will be offered twice daily, at 10:00 a.m. and at 2:00 p.m. From November 1, 2016 through April 30, 2017 the tour will be offered once daily, at 2:00 p.m.. PIEDRAS BLANCAS LIGHTHOUSE TOUR -
From SEPT. 1-JUNE14th tours are offered Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday. From June 15 - August 31st. tours are offered Monday through Saturday. No reservations needed for groups less than 10 people. No tours offered on federal holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc.) $10 adults, $5 ages 6-17, no fee for ages 5 and under. Tours last about 2 hours and include a 1/2 mile of easy walking. Visitors meet at 9:45 a.m. at the former Piedras Blancas Motel located 1.5 miles north of the light station on Highway 1. Do not wait at the gate to the light station! Wheelchairs and strollers are available upon request. No pets. Tours may be cancelled due to inclement weather. The population of the North Coast will be exploding over the next week. A HERD of cows will be arriving in Cambria, San Simeon and Harmony on Friday, September 23rd. Check out life-size, artistically decorated cows at San Simeon Lodge in San Simeon, in front of Cambria Landing on Moonstone Beach Drive, at the Shell Station lot, the Cambria Historical Museum and on the corner of Main St. and Santa Rosa Creek Rd. as well as three beautifully bedecked bovines that will call Harmony home.
