Things are ramping up with the honorary Mayor's Race this summer of 2026. This contest has remained dormant for 18 years in Cambria and our Chamber decided to pick it up as a fun happening for our community and for other non-profit groups to raise funds. We would like to personally thank Kimberly Mastrantonio for her long term dedication as past Mayor. This contest is all in fun as the election that can truly be bought by dollars... Yes, one can vote as often and as much as one can afford, with each dollar counting as a vote. Scan the QR code presented below to vote online or visit our Chamber office to vote in person. Our winner will preside in many town occasions for the coming year as our “official but,unofficial “ presiding Mayor. There will be chances throughout the summer for our candidates to campaign. Some will have their own fundraisers for you to attend. There will be three Chamber Mixers where candidates are invited to campaign, and you can vote. Stay tuned for those dates and locations. And please come to the American Legion Post 432 “Picnic at the Park” celebration of our countries 250th Fourth of July. Candidates will attend in all their Glory under Old Glory to give their platform speeches and collect more votes. This is truly an election that can be bought! The honorary Mayor's Race closes on Saturday night, September 5th , 2026 with a gala patriotic event sponsored by Cambria Lions Club and the Cambria Chamber of Commerce. Final speeches will be made providing the last chance to vote. Winners will be announced midway through this spectacular evening of wine, charcuterie, and dancing to a live band. Save the date, a party not to miss! Be a super Patriot and plan to attend this lively evening and remember vote often.

TUE. AUG 18: Candidate’s Debate
Located in the American Legion Hall (below the Vets Hall stage), 6 PM during a Taco Tuesday night come be part of a lively debate covering the “completely non-consequential issues” facing Cambria today. Juli Amodei will mediate this one-hour event. Food will be available and the bar will be open. Please note, this event is intended strictly to raise the “fun factor” of this campaign.
SAT. SEPT 5: Pinedorado Parade

SAT. SEPT 5: Mayoral Inauguration Ball
This will be a ticketed event and limited so get your tickets early!!! Tickets will be available at the Cambria Chamber of Commerce office and with each candidate. Doors open at 6 PM, and the three-hour affair will include music from a 16-piece big band, the Vineyard Jazz Big Band, a dance floor, table and seating for 120 patrons, food and wine, magic from our MC Rick Bruce, and of course, final campaign moments followed by the announcement of Cambria’s newest Honorary Mayor. Candidate - Barrett Stuart
Ever since my wife Marnie and I moved from the big city life in LA to become full-time Cambria residents six years ago, I have been overjoyed to be a member of such a vibrant local community. Whether it's appreciating our local small businesses, eateries, and wineries, or simply interacting with some of our close-knit community members, living and thriving here amongst the "pines by the sea" is the way I like to roll.
What has inspired you to run for Mayor? I'm running for Honorary Mayor because community is the most important thing, now more than ever. As an elephant seal docent and local tennis pro, I'm thrilled to make connections everywhere I go. Living in Cambria is already like something out of a fairytale, and one of the components that keep it special are the wonderful people who live here. My campaign pledge is to continue fostering the special sense of community here any way I can, and raising money on behalf of the Cambria Tennis Club goes a long way towards achieving this goal. Tennis has been recognized as the "healthiest" sport not only because of the physical and mental benefits derived from playing the game, but also because of its social aspect that creates space for people to interact and to bring the community together around a common joy. Therefore, I'm even prepared to reach across the aisle to our "frienemies" on the Pickle Ball court to make sure our community tent stays intact! So if you're a fellow Cambrian, I hope to engage with you wherever I find you -- on the court, on a trail through Fiscalini, over a glass of wine at Parr Collective, or even just standing in line at Soto’s True Earth or Cookie Crock – there’s no place I’d rather be!

What has inspired you to run for Mayor? Raising funds for the Cambria PTA Nurturing Kindness, Community and Creativity in Cambria Kids Children are the foundation of a community and I feel the more fun, empathy and critical thinking skills we teach them, the stronger we all will be. The PTA is a wonderfully effective organization for enriching and supporting their lives. They do this through dozens of avenues for our school such as: *Donations to teachers who regularly spend their own money on supplies and for professional development *Nurture equity across classrooms by ensuring every student has access to the same opportunities and materials *Extracurricular activities like field trips, Peace Leaders *Academic support like books and supplemental reading programs
I have lived in Cambria 45 years, raised two sons who just moved back last year with their little families, was on the School Board for 12 years, was a Disc Jockey here for 13, wrote a weekly column in The Cambrian for 20 years, was a Den Mother and Scout Master, ran the Cambria Youth Center and now have a desire to reignite our youth opportunities for my grandsons and their friends!

I can’t say I don’t want to run because I have given this a lot of thought… but I
have a lot to give with my military service and I want to use that to support the
Legion. And I really want to stop the fog coming into Cambria. Everyone is sick of
it. I have proven that I have stopped it at my Bed and Breakfast “Fog’s End”. I
think I have proven experience in that matter and can do a good job of erecting a
Fog Wall.
What has inspired you to run for Honorary Mayor?
I want to have more open hours at the chamber, especially on Saturdays and
Sundays. I will lobby hard for more volunteers. And I will communicate well with
the Tourism Board for that. When do people come to town? Saturday and
Sunday. I would want to pay them to be there at the chamber if we can’t get
Volunteers. I also want another bathroom in Cambria. Seems that is the urgent
question from visitors.
